BYU-ID Undergraduate Info
Are you intersted in graduate school? During your off track, you may take
USU classes to earn USU graduate credits and learn about the profession of
rehabilitation counseling.
Rehabilitation counselors work with adults who have disabilities to help them
obtain gainful employment and achieve independence. The rehabilitation counselor's
focus includes employment, education, and community access. They
help
their clients
take control of their lives. Clients may have disabilities that are physical,
cognitive, sensory, or psychiatric.
Rehabilitation counselors work in a variety of settings—from state vocational
rehabilitation offices, to non-profit organizations such as Deseret Industries
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to Veterans Administration
hospitals. Career
opportunities have never been better. Almost 100 percent of USU’s Master
of Rehabilitation Counseling graduates have professional job placement.
